I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished in the past 15 years. We have improved the lives of thousands of children by volunteering and donating an estimated $650,000+ to specific, measurable, local programs which improve the health, welfare and education of kids.

We started out in 2002 as a group of friends (many from the Jersey Shore and NYC) who wanted to make a difference and have a good time. Our first fundraiser was at 10th and Willow for the Alzheimer’s Foundation and was quickly followed by a 300 person bash for the local Boys and Girls Club.

We quickly formed an official 501c(3) not for profit with a volunteer-only board and proceeded to plan events like the Hoboken 5k and Winter Benefit to raise money for local children’s charities. Our work over the years has touched the lives thousands of local kids by funding unique programs to improve their health, welfare and education. Many of our board members have gone on to have their own kids (and some even got married to each other!).

You can see the results of our work everyday through our micro-grants to TRUE Mentors, after school services at the Jubilee Center, safety equipment for Jin-Che-Fway Karate in the Hoboken Housing Authority (which has developed national champions), the restocking of a food pantry after Hurricane Sandy, STEM training for kids at the Boys and Girls Club, oral history and photography programs at the Hoboken Historical Museum, child abuse prevention with SACA. We have supported arts programs at Mile Square Theater and a poetry program at the Museum. We have funded programs throughout Hudson County including a forensic science program at Team Walker, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Jersey City Youth Foundation. We have stepped up at times of international crisis and raised money for New Orleans after Katrina, Partners In Health in Haiti and the Rotary to assist with the Tsunami victims in Japan.

We have helped many over the years and done so without any paid staff. We strictly vet our charities to ensure we donate to programs which provide a maximum “return on giving”.

Of course, we couldn’t have done it without the generous support of board members and volunteers like you.

Now, I’m asking you to “pay it forward” so PWP can continue the great work we have done for the next 15 years.
